Hi,
Gold purchase will not improve experience.
Personally from 30+ years of experience in System building and 20+ years in broadcasting, while dealing with various sound issues/drivers/manufacturers I think taht there is some missing configuration on your PC (most likely not influenced by you) as Realtek sound chipset is known to do that in past few years. May I ask you to open support ticket where we can get into details and attacking it directly.
For start what I need is CPU and Motherboard info screenshot from CPU-Z and Realtek Driver version and info from Windows Device manager -> Sound and Video Section. That will tell me what setup you have and what you can do.
Other things I can propably think of is that your SPDIF output on Realtek is locked so that it always sends 0-100% sound level which disable Volume control so that destination device do the control (eg. Audio Video Receiver, DAC, ...)
Looking forward to solving this as I suspect it can help other users too.
