Problem is still hard on in version 2238. ie Missing download row in Column Browser.

Steps:
  • download track(s) from GPM
  • in D&S>GPM>AllTracks ... turn on Column Browser, set 1st column of Column Browser to Source
  • observe that the ColumnBrowser has a row whose tooltip is "Download" (the one with the cloud & down arrow)
  • navigate elsewhere ... eg ... to EntireLibrary>Albums ... ie. to anywhere outside D&S>GPM
  • Close MM5
  • Restart MM5
  • navigate back to D&S>GPM>AllTracks ... wait for library dictionary to be built
  • the Column Browser should still be displayed ... #1 in diagram ... see download row is missing
  • press F5 to refresh display ... when refresh completed, see still no download row
  • turn off|on the column browser ==> #2 .... download row is now displayed

Are you referring this problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/2nv040ltb0jwu ... r.png?dl=0 ?
i.e. download+cloud icon row missing in the 'Source' column of 'Column Filter' ?
I guess that your DB won't help much as I still cannot access content of your GPM account.
I haven't been able to replicate, but fixed some similar issues related to 'Column Filter' updating for 2238 (related to #016457 ) , so please re-test in 2238 (once is available)

Does F5 (to refresh the view) workarounds this issue?
F5 refresh does not fix the problem. ... Only close and then reopen the Column Browser control.
I think that the way to replicate may be to close MM5 after a GPM down a download ... and last use of D&S>GPM>AllTracks had the Column Browser open, with col1 = source.
The problem is evident when you reopen D&S>GPM>AllTracks.

I have PM'd you my database.

Thx, I've got the log and analyzing it.

EDIT: I have made some fixes, se please re-try in 2233+ (once available)
EDIT2: Deadlock 3C7A2B85 is also fixed in 2233

... this row is missing, even that i have previously downloaded some tracks from GPM[/list]
Workaround: close, and then reopen, the Column Browser panel

Done.

One other thing. I think that i have reported this before.
  • open D&S>GPM>AllTracks
  • takes a while for you to build the track dictionary from my GPM library
  • the last time I used this facility, I had the Column Browser open, with col1=Source
  • so you restore this for me
  • ==> but you don't populate the "download" row ... see yellow arrow here ... this row is missing, even that i have previously downloaded some tracks from GPM
Workaround: close, and then reopen, the Column Browser panel

Hi Barry,
re the freeze logs 3C7A2B85, I have got them and looking into them...

As for the issue with showing strange "Android" messages and the uncompleted tags when downloading duplicate albums.
Could you please catch this in debug log (generated using DbgView) and PM link to the log?

Thanks!

GPM sync and download [#16457]

The GPM sync timing issue is fixed. :)

I retested GPM downloads, and I noticed a few issues.

I requested downloaded of 10+ albums. It started OK. While it was running I opened the node that shows the download queue. Soon after it opened there started to be problems ... maybe opening that was a coincidence ... I don't know for sure.

The batch included download of a couple of albums by John Lewis. I had accidentally queued download of these two albums, which are essentially the same thing.
One download OK, and the second (the one of the right) gave this strange error. ... It mentions android for some reason ... I am downloading using MM5, running under Windows.

A few more things happened, which I will describe below. ... But after all that, I closed MM5, and powered down the PC. PC power down was interrupted by a Windows message mention MM and a memory access error.

When i restarted the PC, I tried to download that same right side album. I got the same error message about Android ... so maybe you can replicate by adding those two albums to your GPM library, and trying to download both in the same batch?

When this issue 1st happened it seemed to kill off some your your 4 concurrent download threads, and download proceeded more slowly.. .... And I started getting messages like this ... when I look at what was downloaded I see situations like this .... some tracks created, but got no content ... then retried, it got downloaded, but you did not populate the tags .... it then tried a third time, and this time it was all OK.

I don't think that this is new issue with version 2232 ... ie. I have reported downloads like this before, where there were multiple attempts to download, some left in a partial state .... I think that it happens when some of your tasks get killed or suspended during a download batch

I manually tided up the multiple versions using Windows Explorer ... the multiple version didn't seem to be in the db ... MM5 was running when I did the tidy up, and it crashed multiple times with this dump
