Thanks, I'm not really concerned about the iTunes starting, but the play count not updating (plus that last play date, etc) is annoying. I have iOS 12.1.4 installed now and it still doesn't want to update the data.

re: playcounts: it works for me (iTouch 7, iOS 12.2)

re: iTunes, try this:

1 Start by clicking on the Windows Start Menu.
2 Now, type “Autoplay” in the search box then hit your Enter key.
3 Scroll down through the list until you find your iPod name.
4 Click on the drop-down box and select “Take No Action” option.
5 Click the Save button

I am using the standard Apple music app on the iPhone. I have made no changes to MM for a year, and this set up did work fine on iOS 11 (albeit with an iphone 6s)

As for iTunes auto-starting, the autoplay is set to off in the control panel. Sometimes when I plug the phone in, I get asked to trust the computer again. I'll keep an eye on it.

That's a Windows Auto-Play setting and can be changed from the Control Panel.

What App are you using on the device to play the files?

MM 4 and ios 12 not updating playcount?

Hello,

I have MM4 (4.1.23.1881) and iTunes 12.0.8.150 on a Windows 10 PC and iOS 12.1 running on an iPhone 8 plus. I am able to add and remove songs via the sync process, but the last played date and the play count are not incremented. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also, each time I connect the phone, iTunes launches, which was not the behaviour under iOS 11 with an iPhone 6s that I had previously. Not sure if that matters or not, but thought I'd mention it.

Thanks
NB
