fyi, beta build 1071 improves this functionality though after awhile:
- MMA will not remain on the lock screen
- MMA will appear on the 'hidden' section of the notifications drawer
- If other audio apps are set to show in the notifications drawer, they may override MMA

Can you confirm that it's working for you?

According to the bug report this was fixed in build 1068. My phone has that build running now. Here is what is happening now:

Settings screen:

MMA disappears from the system media controls after I pause the music. I want it to stay there but nothing I do, including setting it to always be present, changes this behavior. This is different from other media players where they will persist in the system media bar after pausing.

The player will only show in the system media bar while playing. Several minutes after pausing or stopping MM will disappear from it. This behavior is different from other media players where they will stay in the media bar unless dismissed and are easily resumed. This happens despite setting “show in notifications bar” to “always.” FWIW, this happened in MM 1.x as well. MM is set to “unrestricted” in battery details.
