My DAC supports native DSD up to DSD128 (I only have DSD64 files anyway) but unfortunately MM5 doesn't. Are there any plans to change this? I'd prefer native output of DSD.
Besides that, DSD64 is comparable to PCM 24/88.2, so if there has to be an auto-conversion not manageable by the user - as is the case in the current MediaMonkey version - I wouldn't use PCM 24/44.1 but PCM 24/88.2. Unfortunately, chosing this in the output settigs currently makes no sense as it just triggers a second conversion following the standard (not manageable) playback conversion from DSD to 24/44.1.
Hmmm, well I guess this needs to be investigated, if there is possibility to BIT stream DSD to output in RAW format. But it will not be that fast, because such change is classified as very high risk of regressions and most likely will make problems with other formats.
