I did update to that beta, and still encountered the problem... and discovered also what the problem was. Somehow when i converted a mp4 to an mp3 it created infinite folders and copies of the song... not sure why but I discovered the problem: it "didn't like" my infinite files and I did get a stack overflow error that I submitted.

In short, in my case, when I started up, and it was scanning the folders MM monitors, every time it encountered this folder with the files/folders it didn't like, the window just turned white and i had to end task out of it.

I resolved the problem by moving the offending file and deleting the problematic folders and files, the next time I started MM5 after the crash, it was able to continue the monitoring scan and so far so good, no white window.

I am experiencing the same "window goes white" behavior shortly after startup and while it is updating the folders it monitors. I am on the latest version: 5.0.2.2531 - this software is a lifesaver for me, can someone please help?

Hi--Using version 5.0.1.2433 and it is showing similar behavior. Works for about an hour, then just stops, the MM5 window turns white and non-responsive. Only way to exit is via task manager.

Hi, this issue has been already fixed and included in the current build 5.0.1.2433

If you are up-to-date with the build and still experiencing the crash then please install debug build and the crash log should be automatically generated to submit, then submit it and write the crash ID here, see item 4a here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643

Thanks!

Hi

I just bought a little laptop to play media monkey library over the LAN from my main PC in another part of the house.
I am now getting the same issue as this user. Plays for a few tracks, then white screen, no error, task manager.
Can i get the dll fix and instructions on how to add it as a not very techy person

Thanks

I've got a log from another user and fixed the issue as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17792 (details in Mantis)

Until the 5.0.1.2400 is available feel free to replace your current UPnP.dll by this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/wbkvltim9i7b0tx/UPnP.dll?dl=0
=> this will prevent the crash from occuring.

BTW: The reason for subsequent crash was that SSDP has failed to bind multicast socket entirely (this is needed for UPnP/DLNA discovery).

So I guess that your network configuration is somehow specific, you are part of VPN (virtual private network) and/or you have disabled UPnP/DLNA discovery by your router ?
