I don't know, I always sync MMW to MMA. However there has never been a setting related to this in MMA.

So are you implying that something has happened to the Android scanner?

There is no setting in MMA for this.

Something has changed because until recently MMA was always displaying the embedded jpg in my mp3 files. So either MMA has changed functionality or something has changed within Android where it is not scanning media anymore.

Android Media Scanner is how Android scans for your media on the device and MMA uses this when you add files in a method other than sync between MMW and MMA. In MMA 2.0 a build in scanner should become available that should be more reliable.

This has always been like this.

So with MMA 1.x I'd recommend to sync between MMW and MMA to get the best metadata result.

What is Android Media Scanner? Was this changed in MMA recently because it used to show album art. My music files are transferred from the PC as files. I don't use MM for Windows for anything other than ripping the trackes from CD.

MMA 1.x do not read File tags and file tag album art needs to be read and cached by Android Media Scanner so that MMA can show them or you enable Auto lookup of Album Art in MMA options or Sync with MM on PC in order that Album art is served to MMA.

I have noticed that none of my embedded cover art is displaying in MMA. Same media files used in other apps displays the cover art.
