In case of HDMI output you can always use https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-avedio-links-HDMI2-0b-3840x2160/dp/B07XCZC6SP and if AMP or A/V receiver is not HDMI compatible you can always use https://www.amazon.com/iArkPower-Extractor-Splitter-Optical-Supports/dp/B01I9JG70A to get Analog out. This should eliminate Lag in sound.

Finally an extreme measurement you can use https://www.amazon.com/s?k=hdmi+cat6+extender&crid=42U8M4RU3BAD&sprefix=hdmi+cat6+%2Caps%2C308&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_10 to extend HDMI range a lot (Personally I tested on 80m CAT5e cable for 2 projectors and they were in Sync full 1080p quality).

As soon as your audio goes airborne it becomes more delayed so synchronization is an issue. Some projectors are able to transmit via Bluetooth themselves. This may also be an option from the PC if you're using the projector as a screen (HDMI) on the PC. However you may find the audio to not be exactly synchronized with the video.

I have tried to make a Chromecast-like with a Raspberry PI and RaspiCast.

I am not PC-wizard, more a novice. I failed totally. I did download RaspiCast and Nox (an android emulator). I got it to work…. BUT I could not find any of my music on the network.

I think this is impossible. But my mind says it must be.

If one has a projector at one end of the room, run via PC. You and the family sit in front of the screen and the sound “should” have its source form the screen (for stereo). In that case there are the wires coming from the audio source (PC or something connected to the PC) to the speakers.

Surely some one’s wife/spouse equivalent has complained about these stupid wires on the floor where the kids’ trip over and the dog chews.

Anyone with an idea….

My stupid idea was to steam (somehow) the audio to a small receiver (say Raspberry Pi, Arylic - https://www.arylic.com/collections/diy-audio/products/up2stream-pro-receiver-board) then the output could go to an amp. Hence the wire run would be at the other side of the room and limited trip hazard.

Lets consider that lowlander is not right (even he is right) and that it is possible to send Video to one device and audio to another, then in 99.99% of cases Video and Audio would be out of sync.

In theory there is two ways how it can be solved partially:
1. Group casting (eg. multiple devices gets both Audio and Video, where receiving client decide what to play and what not to play). NOTE I can't test that as I do not have hardware for it and it also usually fail synchronization 100% even it can be lowered to almost 0 today.
2. Stream non buffered video stream Video using [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_Transport_Protocol#Overview]RTP protocol[/url] and its [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTP_payload_formats]RTP Payload formats[/url], which use most of Cable and IPTV Providers, but it takes so much developing resources with low return especially as DLNA works in most cases in terms single End-to-End streaming/casting. NOTE: This also fail synchronization even it can be lowered to almost 0 today and there are techniques to sync clients (I have tested with audio and managed to get <50ms (In many cases <25ms) out of sync.

Finally: both setups require good hardware and higher LAN and WLAN quality than in average home, which can also be very expensive.

I doubt there is any way to split the video and audio and have it send to different destination, definitely beyond what MediaMonkey can do.

I have a similar, but different request for help.

I would like to send the video to a projector (I got a cheap one on eBay) and the audio to my raspberry pi that is on the network.

This way I can have the pi near the amp and speakers and reduce the wires all over the floor.

I have no idea how this is done.....any suggestions
