From your description I suppose that you use version 1.0, because the implementation of freedb access had several bugs in this version. You can try version 1.1 alpha, which has corrected freedb support (for both protocols), or if you are afraid of alpha versions, then please wait for beta or release version (could be in few weeks).

gratulations for that good piece of software!!
specially for users like me, who are not freaks in the mp3 environment, this very clear interface and complete solution makes it easy to step in this area.

but i have problems to access freedb:
(there is no help, maybe it is just a handling problem)

1. standard option settings:
(user=anonymos, ...)
i select a cd in the media subtree
menue: actions - freedb - query the selected CD
the screen flickers 0,5 seconds and nothing happens

2.option settings:
protocol = HTTP
i select a cd in the media subtree
menue: actions - freedb - query the selected CD
the screen flickers 0,5 seconds
messagebox "sending line CDDB query ....."
<OK>
nothing happens


3. somethimes i am asked to type in a .txt file name
<OK>
nothing happens

when i download such a txt file from freedb and select this file, the content is displayed in a messagebox
<OK> and ...
nothing happens


info: i can access freedb with the browser, but i am not a registered user


whats wrong?
can somebody help?
