@MMFrLife...No, you would need to replace all the graphic elements to achieve this.
..................Yes, they still work with the current MM.

@rrfpacker...Thanks, I'll have to put you on a sales commission.... :D

I'm interested in the first Origin.X. I love the sizing/proportion of elements and the dark black
look of the frame. However, I can't stand the grey/bluish looking middle area/pane borders, etc. .
Is there a way to make it all the "same" black as the frame without getting into skin editors and such?
Have you seen the OSW8 skins? Might be what you are looking for.

I'm into dark themes and I haven't found anything that really wows me (I've seen and tried many of them).
Currently I'm using Metro because it's the closest to an overall look and feel that I want.

I came across this one and I'm really diggin' the way it looks overall, "could this be the one?".

Do these even still work in the current MM version.

Yep dreadm i have seen this same issue since mm3 got the float player, it was just in that float player for me though, never seen it in the main player, but coachuk is right there is something strange with odd sized skins, last i found was the main mm ini file had a player x & y code in a section and it changes the players ini that is included with the skins made for odd sizes, i found it is messing with main player in moving the player ini postioned items, it does it more on the float players that are odd sized but it doesnt touch the small micro player i use.

It was fixed by rusty a long time ago but since then some one of the developers either put it back to the way it causes the error, or they didnt fix it in their version they updated, and when they sent in a update for rusty to add in the error was put back in.

Its been there since i got mm4 vr..0.0.0 beta just like that white side of the float player.

Hi CoachUK

Sorry ,please don't take it wrong.
But buttons and timedisplay positions can be fix simply by setting the Resizable line to Resizable=1,1,0,0
(same as the prev,play,next buttons)

for the player itself you can try this "Resizable=1,0,0,0"

or you can defined resizable blank backgrounds on bottom and right side,
and player is just a right side object.
like this the player would just displays one time.

@ catbehemoth
Thanks for the images. It's not actually a glitch with the skin but with MM's way of handling odd size players. If you resize the player on the top or bottom edges, the player can be restored to it's intended dimensions and that will also bring the buttons back into place. It's the same principle as what happens when you move a 'standard' strip player into another panel, the body may be resized beyond it's intended dimensions and the buttons and other skinned elements (e.g. volume controls, etc.) will be distorted. The only way for me to prevent this from happening is to make the player size totally fixed. The down side to that is that when you move the player it won't be able to take up any extra usable space in the panel it's been placed and looks odd, which most user's don't want.

Hope this makes sense.

@CoachUK

Win7, 64bit, Origin.X Extreme
a found something which i believe some sort of a glitch, causing my second row of buttons (playlist, shuffle and EQ). If you move the player to a different place, the second row gets offset depending where you move it. I'm not sure what the problem is.
Few examples:

Thanks for the skin again, very good work.

And thanks to rrfpacker for his swift response....unfortunately I'm not online that much at this time of year with the pressures of my business so he very kindly keeps an eye out
Thank you for that...I can respond quickly because I have nothing else to do. :)

BTW, I usually place my player at the top, above the main panel, between the left and right panels, to save space. Works with most players.

@ bradscotsanders

Exactly as rrfpacker says, position cursor on a solid part of the player body (top corners are usually good) and left click and hold down the mouse button. Now drag the player to the position you want it.

Think of the theme as being able to be divided into 3 vertical panels.
If you already have three panels, drag the player to the lower half of the centre panel and let it go. A lot of people like to have the Nodes tree in the left panel and use the right panel for MR, LV or artwork, etc.
Just remember that if you drop a player into the left or right panels, the panel will either increase in size to the size of the player (It won't necessarily reduce in size when you remove the player so you may need to resize it manually), or the player will be obliterated where it reaches the far edge of that panel.

It really is a question of trying out things to suit your own taste which is, of course, one of the best things about MediaMonkey....make it what YOU want it to be.

Hope this helps.

Just click and drag it. It may take a couple of tries before you find the right spot that "grabs", but that's all there is to it.

I am posting again thinking that my question was buried in the post. I want to get the player anchored under the center column like displayed in the first post (Xtreme). Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Thanks CoachUK for the 'specific' details on the skins. I did find that since I did not embed my build of MM on the C drive, my location is vastly different. In case others have a difficult time locating the exact directory, mine was located here:

Note: (Windows XP Professional/Service Pack 3)

<drive>/Documents and Settings/<user>/Application Data/MediaMonkey/Scripts/LyricsViewer/themes (for Lyrics Viewer skins)
<drive>/Documents and Settings/<user>/Application Data/MediaMonkey/Scripts/MonkeyRok/skins(for MonkeyRok skins)

Thanks again for a great look on the skin. I do have one more question! How to get the player to lock in place on the center column (like displayed on your example)?

Thanks Vyper and rrfpacker for replying to the earlier posts. Sound advice as always.

@ bradscotsanders

For clarification, earlier versions of MediaMonkey used to look for Theme skins in C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Skins. Version 4 still does pick up that location for Theme skins but the preferred location for these is now C:\Users\<NAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Skins. If you ever find yourself with two instances of a skin appearing in your list, the chances are that you have put a copy in both locations.

Similarly, older versions of MM looked for MR and LV skins in the C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MonkeyRok\skins directory. Version 4 doesn't seem to check this alternate location any longer and wants these in the C:\Users\<NAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MonkeyRok\skins directory. (For LyricsViewer it's C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\LyricsViewer\themes).

I hope this is helpful and means that you can get the MR skin up and running.

:)

The location Coach posted is where the skins for LV and MonkeyRok need to be. Otherwise they won't show up.

If you go to that location you'll see a scripts folder under MediaMonkey and in that you'll see an LV folder containing a themes folder. I assume it's the same for MR but I don't have that installed to verify.
