Now time will tell as MM is mainly writen in Embarcadero RAD Studio 2009/2010 and most code is moved from Delphi 7 so we will see.

KSDev as a company is no more and excepting no new orders. The developer has gone to work for Embarcadero and sold them the IP for KSDev's products.
See the website http://www.ksdev.com home page for full details.

That doesn't seem to be the opinion of the people that posted in this thread.

What is stated is that there is no point in upgrading theme engine from v7 to v9.
i know those that posted replys in this thread were basicly asking for more features.
or theme engine changes.
i did not say they were wrong,
but what i said was i want more things to look at in the skins not really after more features,
although i am not against new features, i just want more eye candy in the skins,
which is fully able to be done in the present skinning process. :)

thanks thats what i thought it was the same engine, that i have.

yep i know there is really no need to add more features on the player skins,
what more i'm wanting is more design in them.

to me looking a plain jane player skins is like sitting in the rubber room
all day with nothing to look at it'll drive you crazy. :o

god didn't give us black and white eyes that see only shades of light and dark.
he gave us eyes that see colors and shapes.

Yes, we're using ThemeEngine 7. When you look at the updates since version 7, there's nothing we really need.

Not to rovingcowboy. To him, MORE is more!
ain't nothing wrong with more, why we supersize or dinners in the usa, why not add more things to click on and look at
on our music player skins.

shucks just dump the crayon box out and start coloring if you only want colors. make as many different lines to look at
that you can fit on your background image for your player or frames.

but this one color same style skin new buttons has got to stop. it is way beyound boring, which would you buy in the store
a package of hamburger that is the same as all the rest that is a 10 pound one. or would you buy the 11.50 pound one for the same price as the others.

ah ahh careful now that 11.50 is different and more on the package then the others.!!!!!

its normal you see for people to want more for the same price.
that goes to the other things we get we want more if the choice is there.

Don't get me wrong. I wasn't demanding the update to latest version. I was just asking you to confirm or deny this speculation:
gege wrote:I think ... the MM team have made their own mods on an earlier version of themeengine. Now it is kind of difficult to use an updated version of vanilla themeengine.
Which you have just confirmed:

We're considering to move to VGScene in future (mainly because of multi-platform support).

gege, i know ThemeEngine we're using is outdated, but i can't see anything we really need in latest version and based on our huge customizations it's high risk to update (and for no 'real' reason).

Speaking of ThemeEngine...
Petr, in this post I've made some assumptions related to themeengine, but I was simply speculating.
Could you please confirm or deny what I said there?

Hi PetrCBR.

Did you consider the possibility of changing theme engine for a more powerful engine?

Could this be a candidate: http://www.ksdev.com/vgscene/index.html

Is switching the skin engine planned at some point?

Thank you.

Year ago i've made some tests (internal only) how to draw custom border together with aero. It work 'fine', but there're some complications because of ThemeEngine we're using and need many changes in TE to make it work as we need.
