It would be nice, IMHO, to have a font end of some kind that would automate the process of tagging mp3s and getting album art from Gracenote in chunks of about 100 - 300 songs at a time. Since the option to use Winamp's player instead of MM's player exists, I was wondering if it would be possible to have MM send information to Winamp, and in turn, use Winamp's "Auto-Tag" feature to obtain relevant tag & art information. It is already possible to click on songs that display in MM and have them play in Winamp, so some kind of programming relationship already exists. However, I do not know the extent of this programming relationship.
I'm sure that there is a consensus of people who agree that no individual database contains the perfection of all mp3 tag information, but using Gracenote via Winamp (same database that iTunes uses) offers the end user more choices.
Is this even possible, or would there be legalities & other conflicts of interests that would impede this suggestion?
