I know I miss my default MM4 themes, but I also do not want the same exact theme as MM4 in case I run them side by side. As an aside, it did seem like when I did the manual add folders in Monitor files in MM4 recently and ran it for about 10 minutes, yesterday, it shot through about 150k files in maybe 10 minutes.

One thing I wonder, possibly, is it going slow due to maybe trying to read tags or create art for the videos, at the same time. Does this run concurrently?
I don't know ... strongly advise you to create that debug log. Your loadup takes a long time, so it will be a pain to recreate the situation if they need the log file. ... It is a simple job to download the tool, and run it ... ie. no config or enrolment required.

I guess that there will be more skins once MM5 has been officially released ... or, you could just buy a pair of sunglasses :D

Thanks for the assistance. I think if I cannot have some other system problems (unrelated issue with my m.2 causing Watchdog Violation BSOD every so often) then it should be done either by the time I go to bed, or when I wake up in the morning.

Suggest that you download and run the DbgView app, as advised in point 3.b here.

You only need to run it for a couple of minutes, and then save the file to Dropbox or something, and then PM a download link to Ludek, one of the MM5 Developers.

He will need that file to diagnose what is slowing down your loadup, if there is a problem ... it sounds like a problem to me ... but maybe is just your environment ... he will advise.

BTW I think that I misunderstood our UI colour question ... I guess that you were just wanting to swap out the orange colour of that dark skin.

That will be a simple hack, but I don't know how to do it. ... it would be good if the dark skin had a hue setting, so that it is easy to change the predominant colour ... the orange was a shock at first, but I have grown to like|tolerate it.

I have a variety of audio (mp3, flac, shn, ape, and probably a few more I haven't thought of, yes I need to update them to be consistent, but it is what it is, at this point) and video (avi, mkv, mp4, rm, dvd, others).

I am not sure if it matters much, but they are on 4 drives, I am using 4221. I have had a variation of this issue on MM4, several years ago, I think it was. I did try and clear out the database before restarting.

Right now I am about 339k added out of ~691k or so files. There are ton of the files in a folder I call Done. This folder, alone, has upwards of 2TB of audio and video files inside of ~20k folders and subfolders. This is my curated, semi-sorted concert collection I have been working on getting digitized for the past 15+ years. Still growing and still working through the files.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

At this point, nearly 12 hours in, I am about 277k out of 690k files.

I am guessing at this rate, they should be done in about 36 hours. That in, and among itself, would not be bad, but will MM5 do a thorough monitor every time I load, and if so, how long would that likely take each time I load MM5?
I did a clean install of MM5 version 2220, and I did an import of tracks from my NAS. 45,000 tracks took 20 minutes.
From this I would assume that your library should take a bit over 5 hours, unless the database loading task gets progressively slower as the library grows.

I did notice a significant slow down in version 2220, when scanning and syncing against a Google Play Music library. The job which used to take 9 minutes, had blown out to 5 hours. ... Maybe you are experiencing some part of that bug, which is going to be fixed in the next version btw.

My NAS files are flac files, but the version in my Google Play library are mp3 files ... You have .mp3 files? ... they haven't said what the bug was, but maybe it just affects mp3?

If no, then it looks like you have some other problem.

BTW, subsequent scans are several orders of magnitude faster than the initial discover scan ... ie. no database building. ... I just re-scanned my NAS location ... took 1:18 vs the 21 minutes required by the discovery scan.

You can change using the View|Skin menu.

Hi all, been a while since I had a chance to mess around with MM5 betas. I finally got all my files moved to their network drives and decided to see how MM5 would do importing/adding the files.

Also, is there a way to change the main outer part of the dark theme from orange to something else?

Keep up the great work!
