Not sure as I don't have any big playlists. However, it loads my 16000 track library fine. The whole Android Auto experience is still crippled by Google's nannying tap limitation however. I'm currently trialling Apple's CarPlay and its implementation of the music app is much better (no tap limit, so you can actually find what you are looking for), although there are other things I don't like.

I've given up on MMA and now use Rocket Player, which works fine with AA.

Three days ago I compared my Ford Sync 3's behavior with that of Chrysler's Uconnect, and they behave exactly the same with MMA ie they both either show a blank screen when a track should be shown or the message "Getting your selection..." is showing.
So yes I think there is something going on with MMA.

The "Getting your selection" is forever showing on my Android Auto. 2017 VW Golf/Note 9. Ugh, there is no way to get rid of this?

There are several known bugs that came with changes that Google made to Android Auto now require MediaMonkey to be changed so it works properly will all of AAs features. The devs are aware of most of them a believe. You will mostly just have to wait and see.

Still no update on when MMA with a large library will be compatible with AA?

I see there's an option in the settings "Limit list size for external apps" which I haven't noticed before. However, even setting it to "unlimited" doesn't do anything. I still just get a spinning wheel when selecting a large list such as Albums, Artists or Tracks.

Btw, it's working fine on several other music apps I have installed, so it's definitely a bug on MMA.

Just wondering if anyone has heard of if/when MMA will be compatible with Android Auto again?

I tried the beta, but it still gives the same problem for me unfortunately. It only loads lists where just a few entries exist (in my case Playlists and Genres). Albums, Artists and Tracks just give the spinning circle.

I installed Pulsar as a comparison, and (using AA) it loaded all my content almost immediately.

That sounds great, but how do I get that version? My MMA shows 1.3.2.0824, and no updates seem to be available via the Play store.

To close on this: it's fixed in 1.3.3 (build 837+).

Which version of MMA?

MMA Playlist with Android Auto

by Pvcleave » Wed Oct 31, 2018 4:11 pm

I have a playlist that I have created with MMA, with about 900 songs. It works fine, except when I try running it in Android Auto. In Android Auto it will never load any songs. It will keep trying to load for about 10-15 minutes then finally go back to the main screen. This same playlist will work fine with Google play app in Android Auto. I would like to be able to use MM. I actually would like to have a playlist that has several thousand songs.

Does MMA have a limit on the # of songs it can have in a playlist with Android Auto? I tried using this with an LG V20 and an LG v35. The car is a 2017 Hyundia Elantra.
