Why not use the FooTouchRemote which lets you just use the Apple Remote application natively?

MonkeyMote (iOS music remote control)

A little free time over the christmas holidays allowed me to play with the Collections feature and I really love it. I am running 4.1.8 Gold on Windows with a HDMI connection to my stereo. I have multiple collections for: Hi-Res, CD/normal, low-res for portable players, and Christmas music for the wife (lol). I also use MonkeyMote on my ipad to control my listening experience. I love MonkeyMote, but it doesn't seem to support collections or provide another means for filtering. For example, if I want to browse just my hi-res collection on my ipad, MonkeyMote wont enable me to do this. Are there any other ios-based remotes that provide this type of filtering functionality or support the collections I have already defined?

I suppose I could create/maintain playlists for this purpose - but it seems more cumbersome and adds another step in managing a large library.
Thanks for your input!
