will change my sstem i guess...have last months as m3u fixed and write protecxted

sync and rate current month till the end, then export..

Do note that any auto-export solution would fail if you remove the files in MediaMonkey and have the auto-export solution overwrite existing copies of the Playlist.

Not aware of any button tagging solution. Tagging can be done by dragging files onto the tag value in the Media Tree (eg. tag Genre with Rock by dragging file on to the Music > Genre > Rock node. Don't know if this works for Magic Nodes as that would be required to display Custom fields as node.

any idea for the quick tagging of the custom fields?

to tag multiple songs at one time you must select multiple songs at once in the list view area.
then left click on the word edit on the edit bar, the properties panel should show up in the panel you will see all the tag's text boxes and to the right of that a check box to make the same change to all the songs selected just put a check mark in that box beside the tag you want changed, BUT BECAREFUL if you check the title or location box you'll have one song and lose all the rest. or you will just have all songs with the same title, so it is best not to put the mouse near those two check boxes.

Playlists are stored in the database and linked to the files in the database. Thus the Playlists are emptied each time you remove the files from the Library.

You can export Playlists use File > Export to Playlist for selected files, Tools > Extensions > Export All Playlists or automatically with http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =2&t=34512.


If you prevent MediaMonkey from tagging the files (do this under Tools > Options > Tags & Playlists) you'd loose the tags you use to create the Playlists.

and further..is there an option ( i think a buddy reported sth like this in itunes) to lock MM from tagging anything, lock me from tagging, or only allows a user, not any addons/anything automated?!?

so i use mm since long time...but have 1 big problem...
i use playlists for evry 3 months...so i have 4 per year, in which i put files that i like which are new, or i havent heard in a long time...
then i sync these to mma and so on

problem is that i loose files from these pl in many situations...
they are not written to a file automatically...while i know theres an addy for that....even if i sync them to a file....if i remove files from my lib for any reason...these files are gone from the playlist in MM and after the next sync they will be removed from the synced file, aswell....
i know i could backup before removing from lib....but mehh...thats not comfortable anough...since i also can loose files from MMW for no reason...

so since a year or so i have the idea to create my playlists automatically from the file tags....since i will never loose the tags...the pl´s would be recreatable in any circumstance..

so i started to use custom fields for this...which is working i guess....but tedious to operate...since you have to go into singlefiles to tag the custom field...or have a MM list view, that gets too broad from too many columns.....its just not comfortable again...


so i guess my real question is this:
is there a way to aoutomaticvally tag a certain field in the tags by an action... i have 2 things in mind:

1 either have a bar in MM, that has buttons..when i predd a button the selected files get their fileds updated by the settings of that button ( i click "1601! and the files custom field 1 is tagged with "1601")

2 or have the file be tagged in the above mentioned way when dragged and dropped to a playlist/drop container


i simply look for a comfortable way to quickly edit certain fields of files without having to open its prefs ort using the columns

it would be great to never loose any favourite tracks anymore....any other ways?!?!
