MM5 will be more flexible, but main reason is that DTS is not supported as there is no clear standard on tagging and how MM should handle it. It would be partial implementation which is not in MM nature to do that. Renaming to other format like AC3 or Drag and drop to MMW player should play it if system is set to correctly handle codec..

Hallo,

I think i am doing something wrong.
After trying what seems al the options i still can not play the DTS files.
The vlc player simply plays them without any fine-tuning or tinkering about.

Please some help and a explanation wy the monkey is funking this up?

Thank you! That at least worked to show the actual files.

I think this plugin should work.
http://ac3filter.net/wiki/WinampAC3

You'll need to copy the file in_winampac3.dll to the folder:

C:\Users\username\Appdata\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Plugins (Win 7/Vista)

or for a portable installation to the

\MediaMonkey\Plugins folder.

DTS 5.1

Trying to add DTS 5.1 files to mediamonkey and they are not being recognized.

I've tried renaming them to .wav and they would get recognized in MM 4.0.3 browser, however I am losing ability to save tags to these files. I've tried renumbering and changes are lost immediately.

I've tried any possible plugins in previously found posts, however that does not help me.

http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ts#p332713 and few others I had found.

I can play these files without problems with VLC or Winamp. Is it possible to manage .dts files within MM4?

UPDATE:

Installed http://www.windows7codecs.com/ codecs and now I can play these DTS files in WMP12, however MM4 still not recognizing a single DTS file. I don't need to play them, at least be able to manage my media collection as I don't use MM4 to play files.
