MM can't access or see "PersonalCloud" (Seagate) NAS

Post by KVD »

Hi there,

MM (latest and gold version) can't access or even see my Seagate PersonalCloud NAS drive (connected to the same home-network)

When going with the MM Browser to My Computer > Network > MS Windows Network > Workgroup -> Here I can see my MS Surface Tablet, all other network computers AND my other Synology NAS (DS1815+) as fully accessible. Only my Seagate PersonalCloud is not seen (found), so not accessible from within MM.

Strange that the Synology NAS (8 bay) is found and the Seagate (single drive NAS) is NOT.

Is there anything I should do in MM or in the Seagate drive ? (Although in the Seagate there is only little that can be configured)

Any help in this would be most welcome.

Thanks and best regards.

A lot of times MM will only find it if you copy/paste the UNC path directly into the add/rescan box.

Do you see personal Cloud under network tree in Windows explorer?

Hi,

Yes, I do see the NAS in the Windows network tree (explorer), and meanwhile all problems are solved too.
I entered and added the full network path for the files to be scanned in the library at startup.
Although the PersonalCloud is not visible in the windows network tree within MM it is however found within MM but at the "Mediaservers" location.

So everything work well now. Thanks for the suggestions. Best regards.

MediaMonkey doesn't always show all network File Servers, however you can manually enter the Path in Add/Rescan Files to have the files scanned in.

Note that Media Servers in the tree shows DLNA servers, not File Servers. DLNA servers will allow playback, but won't allow editing/renaming/moving/deleting of files.
