Anyway you may have magical powers, because DiscogsTagger is working, and very fine! :)

Congratulations again for your work, i can't imagine using MM without your addon.
Thanks, you are welcome! I'm happy that you like the addon!

I think that Discogs may had problems which they fixed.

That's the explanation!

Can i bother you again ?

Some releases have different tracks with same title :

example :

01 - Main title
...
10 - Main title

and after tagging with DT :

01 - Main title
...
01 - Main title

DT changes the track number

Only solution i found is unchecking the track number box. Is it possible to fix it ?

It's not a big issue, but did you noticed that ?

Thanks again

Best methods of autotagging?

I'm fairly new to MM4 and am trying to figure out the autotag from web thing.

Apparently it no longer works with Amazon. (so I'm not sure why Amazon is still selectable in the options window?)
I installed the Discogs tracker, and according to the directions:

"After installing the script you have to choose your favourite Tagger (Discogs or MusicBrainz) from options in the right upper corner."

So I use the dropdown in the upper right corner, which shows only options for Amazon.
What am I missing?

Or, is there a better way to do autotagging?
Thanks

Check under Tools > Extensions if Discogs is actually installed.

Hi,

this is a known problem of Mediamonkey, MM sort the tracks with the track-names, not with the track-number. You can try the addon Discogs Batch Tagger, with it you can change the track-position easily while tagging.

Hi Cybergooch,

you could try to reinstall the script. Deinstall the script, restart MM, install Script.

Hi,
You should check Tools -> Extensions and first uninstall DiscogsAutotagWeb, Restart and then install it again. If it is missing in extensions try to manually Install and then uninstall before you install it again.

Most likely you have some leftover from previous install. If that do not help Please Open support Ticket and I'll try to help you in more details.

Steps to get DisCogs to work with Media Monkey

I've seen a PDF of instructions for trying to get discogs to work with media monkey function of looking up an artist via the web but the instructions are outdated and no longer work.

I need complete instructions on what I am supposed to do to authorize Discogs to work with media monkey. The process seems to be incomplete, not working and not documented very well.

After creating an account, the application link in settings for Discogs has no instruction on how to authorize the application.
"You haven't yet authorized any applications to access your account."

The next step only links to the developer page in which you create an application, call it media monkey, and then I'm given a
the following:

Consumer Key KEY IS HERE
Consumer Secret More gibberish
Request Token URL https://api.discogs.com/oauth/request_token
Authorize URL https://www.discogs.com/oauth/authorize
Access Token URL https://api.discogs.com/oauth/access_token

The URL links keep telling me I am using the wrong format and offers zero guidance as to what is wrong.

Media Monkey application itself under Tools / options / Discogs Tagger there is an option to input values for
1. Discogs Access Token
2. Access token and a access Token secret.

Inputting the consumer key and consumer secret values into the fields does nothing. There is no URL to use to direct media moneky either.

I'm lost on how to make this function work.

Started getting the following error message this evening

Error #2146697211 - msxml6.dll
The system cannot locate the resource specified

File "C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\DiscogsWebTag.vbs" Line:6341, Column:3

I'm using the latest version of MediaMonkey 4.1.23 1881 and Discogs Tagger v5.64 on a Windows 10 laptop.

I trying rebooting and reinstalling MediaMonkey. Neither seemed to work. I tried downloading the latest script from the Addons page, but the host site appears to be down.

Ironically, the Musicbrainz tagger seems to work fine.

Would you please try it again ? Another user has the same problem and he tried it again later and it works. I think it must be a problem with the discogs webpage.
