Shortening tracks titles

Post by Otello »

I have a trivial but boring problem with my library: many albums, expecially complete operas, have a very long titles, which makes them almost useless, as the beginning is the same for all tracks and I have not enough "real estate" on the title column to see the end.

Example:

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Don Giovanni, Herbert von Karajan, Wiener Philharmoniker, Ouvertura
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Don Giovanni, Herbert von Karajan, Wiener Philharmoniker, N.1 - Notte e giorno faticar
etc.

I'm wondering if exists a script or whatever to shorten the track titles for a complete album; I mean, in the case of my example, select all the album tracks and cut "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Don Giovanni, Herbert von Karajan, Wiener Philharmoniker, " from all the tracks names.

Thanks...

You don't have to loose the data though as the data belongs in the Artist, Composer and Conductor fields.
