I want to add 24K
I do not use this app at all and have never used it before; however, I just installed it to my Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G to figure this out real quick. My tablet already has media on its micro SD card. I simply pointed MediaMonkey Android to my existing media (audio files only).
Here is how I created a new playlist:

Look at this screenshot above. First, click Music over to the left to select songs you wish to add to a playlist. You probably already have music displayed. For learning purposes, create a playlist from what is already there. Take baby steps before running.

Next, you must long press specific songs that you wish to add. For my example, I want to add 24K Magic by Bruno Mars. I pressed this song without releasing my finger holding onto the screen. The song will eventually change into a check mark indicating it is selected.

With the song selected, I next tap the add to playlist icon located at the top of the screen. From the right, it is icon # 4. It looks like a list with a + symbol. I have no existing playlists. So I get this pop-up asking me to add to a playlist. No idea why this is even showing, but it is what it is. My only option is to tap NEW to create a new play list.

Next I must name my new playlist. I will call it Bruno Mars. After entering this text, I tap CREATE.

Next, I get this question (no idea why I am getting this, but again -- it is what it is). For this question, I tap ADD.

Finally, my new Bruno Mars playlist is created. Tap Playlists over to the left to see the new play list. While on this screen, I should be able to tap the Bruno Mars playlist with options to play the content.
Try this out.
