Hi,
Make sure that dbgview is started before MM start and min or two you see High CPU usage. Note the time for easier tracking and you can close MM in order that log is complete.

Thanks for the response. I sent in a more complete log yesterday.

Yes, that is what he will be meaning.

Hi,
analyzing the log from [Ticket # 6805] and the high CPU usage is caused by intensive scanning of MediaMonkey media server by LG TV  (LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK)

You can filter out this LG TV scanning in Options > Media Sharing > MediaMonkey Library > Clients tab
and disable the TV there..

Just disabling the TV entries didn't seem to work. I removed the Library and re-added it - then denied the TV's share access when requested.

So far so good, but if the issue reoccurs I'll grab a debug log and alert you.

Still running hot this morning (19-26% CPU). New debug log uploaded.

I get this too.. it just happens at random times and it isn't specific to my machine as I also get it running in a VM. I do notice that when it happens and I open task manager, there are a few MediaMonkey processes running 'Background processes', as when generally when it isn't happening (close and re-open MediaMonkey), there is only one process

This has been happening to me since the start of the 5.1 beta which I wanted for multi-sorting. I think i have installed every version during the beta and it has existed in them all

I should note that to date, I have been running as a portable installation. I have just tried installing the normal way

Hi,
Try Disabling server in Media Sharing and see if it changes anything.

My 'server' was already disabled, I made this change earlier..

The issue just happened again on the latest beta with a proper install (not portable). I played an album a couple of hours ago and have checked it since while it is just idling, nothing playing. When I just looked (as fan was running high), I noticed it had happened again

FYI: Thanks to user from ticket # 6805 we were able to find the culprit (mDNS) and fix it as

Is there a chance I can get the 3006 build so I can see if this fixes my issue too? I have been running the debug tool and there have been instances where I have seen the mDNS scans, but I also had one time where there were no nDNS entries, just these (over and over)

[2200] TCoolTrayIcon.NotifySystem: Mode = 2
[2200] TCoolTrayIcon.NotifySystem: Finished
[2200] LastError: Unspecified error

I grabbed an old debug build of 5.0 and this TCoolTrayIcon doesn't exist.

When I see this happening, it starts when nothing is playing, like a song had finished recently or it is just sitting idle. I have also built a Windows 11 VM and can replicate it, so it is not OS specific

I have a few debug logs I can submit and can start a new thread if it isn't the same thing

Hi,
the new build with the fix should be ready soon..

As for the 'TCoolTrayIcon.NotifySystem' messages, I am ssein ghtis too in the DbgView, but it's not culprit for the high CPU,
I'll look why the 'TCoolTrayIcon.NotifySystem' messages are there...

Just wanted to highlight the great work by Ludek to identify and solve this issue. MediaMonkey support is top notch.
