No tracks play of full Library and existing media

Post by jpurssey »

Windows 10 stopped working and I had to use Windows 10 recovery and reinstall MMW4.
The media files were intact on a different drive.
The recovery created a Windows.old folder that contained the mm.db file and other extensions, so I used them to replace what was in the new installation {userid}/appdata/roaming/mediamonkey. This recovered the last played, number of times played, and all my created playlists.

The big problem is that though each entry points to the right location, none will play and after the attempt is greyed out.
There is no problem playing them with VLC or the Windows Media Player.

The solution guide of installing the Windows media extension for Windows Home 22H2 showed that it was already installed.

So I don't know what else to do

Does MM show the correct Path (including drive letter)?

MM shows the correct path including the drive letter.

If I do a Locate missing files it tells me that all the files I selected were unmoved.

I am now also getting another issue which I have had previously.
An error message saying
[The "HiFI TXNR515AE" player is turned off or inaccessible]
pops up every few seconds and has to be cancelled to continue.

I have removed the TXNR515AE from the windows device list, but the error still occurs. This happens whether the TXNR515AE is turned off or on, and while the TXNR515AE displays that it is connected to {My}PC Mediamonkey server.

I had planned to upgrade to MM5, but I don't think that would solve the problems.

Looks like you set an external device as Player in MediaMonkey. I believe Tools > Options > Player (or something like that allows you to switch back to Internal Player in MMW4).
