More than one instance opens despite setting

Despite this setting, if I have MM4 open (and quiet) and then d-click an MP3 in File Explorer, it opens another instance.

Can't say for sure which, if any, of my various actions resolved it, including two PC Win 10 reboots, but very relieved that it's now working normally.

As MM4 is no longer supported I doubt if the programmers will be interested. But FWIW at one stage yesterday I did get this obscure error message when trying to close the multiple instances. Probably an unrelated issue.

The error refers to the Backup 6.0 addon https://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brow ... /backup-1/ and https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7746

Looks like this addon has not been updated for a while.
