As for the discogs search, I thought it was fixed because I can now search for bands like "LAKE R▲DIO", "†‡†" or even "K's Choice" without problems (all these didn't return any results before). But I tried searching others with more "normal" special characters, like "Týr" or "Mão Morta" and got nothing from those.
I guess there's nothing to do but wait. Interestingly enough, their website search doesn't have a problem with any of them.
Yes, that's strange. They didn't recognize all UTF-8 characters, for whatever reason...

I'm going to chime in that neither "Queensrÿche" nor "Queensryche" returns any results.

Lucky for me, their choice of album names is not very common.

* Ninja edit to add that their EP named "Queensrÿche" showed up. The script allows searching for this character in the "Title", but not the "Artist" field.

I've been using this tagger for some time with great success, however I occasionally get error 13 type mismatch TMP4(...)line 4539 column 2. It seems to be specific to certain albums on Discogs. The one I'm having a problem with currently is "Queen ‎– The Crown Jewels: 25th Anniversary Boxed Set."

Is at all possible to get a number of tracks in the drop-down list of matches?

I know it's being worked on, and I hate being the whiner, but man, the speed of loading an album gets frustrating. It would be cool if there was a way to get a better idea of whether or not there was a match before I start selecting each of the 30 matches in the list. If only I had just saved that info when I ripped my music the first time. I'm just glad I was so strict about track titles, or I'd be screwed.

The script isn't the problem here, the Discogs search function doesn't work correctly. I will post this issue at Discocs, maybe they will correct it..

It would be possible to add the number of tracks to the drop-down list. But the script have to load every release to get the number of tracks. This would lasts eternity.
Sorry, but i think it can't be faster.
The time for getting the release list depends on how many releases found (35 releases found ~ 2 seconds) (100 releases found ~ 4 seconds)
2 seconds to get the release, 2 seconds for the images, 1 second for getting the master-release (fetching the original release date) and 1 second putting all together for showing up. Fetching the discogs page always take much time.

Thank you for posting this bug! I will soon release a new version!

I thought there might be a place to grab the number of tracks at the same time as populating the search results drop-down.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you.

I will post this feature request at discogs, maybe they will add it.

Searching with the script at MusicBrainz return the number of tracks.

I add the option to limit the releases getting from Discogs. This will reduce the time for fetching the list of releases, but not the time for changing the release from the drop-down list.

I didn't use a timer, but I swear there is a noticeable difference when I try to search on my more popular releases. Thank you.

Thoughts on a limit of 25? If there isn't much difference, 50 is a good place to stop.

At this point, for me, every second you save me in search translates to significant portions of an hour. I'm sorting through my whole library, and have 1500 albums left before I start on the couple of hundred various artist discs. I'm sure those will be fun.

Yes, I'm an idiot for not including album information when I was ripping the discs.

I have this same problem, especially with deluxe versions on popular releases. The way I do it for releases that have lots of versions is to simply click the album link on the tagger to open the album on IE, then I open all releases on tabs and cycle through them until I find the one I want. Then I just place the release number on the search bar.

I limit it to 100 releases before, now i choose a standard of 50. I think, it saves ~ 1.5 seconds.

I will add 25 in the next version. And add this option to the main page, so it can be changed during searching for the right release.

Thank you for the hint! Especially on popular releases this could be a faster way to find the right release!

You have just changed the game.
