I noticed today that discogs fixed their search. I can now find all those artists with strange characters.

While you're working on a new version, I have another request:
I don't use the original date field. I always place the original date in the date field and it's kinda annoying that discogs wants to change my date all the time on reissues. Can you add an option to use the discogs original date field (when available) on the mp3 date tag?

This are great news !

But artists with german umlaut chars (ä,ö,ü) can still not be found.

Yes, the option is added. Please take a look at the Discogs options and tell me, if this is what you want.

Changing the release will now reset the selected tracks. :D

I can confirm that the track reset is working, even when you move from those releases that behave like groups (like the disc name), which were the main reason other tracks would become unselected.

However, I can't find an option relating to the dates, other than the already existing one to use the year of the date, and if the original date is different from the release date, it still uses this last one.
Also, when I change any of the options and it causes that "postback" delay, the original date becomes blank.

Hi, long-time listener, first-time caller. Just got the update. First I want to say that I love your plugin. Second, I've found two issues.
  • Minor quibble. When I use the "Advanced Search," hitting "Enter" does not trigger search. Not a big deal, but it's unexpected, and vexing.
  • I've been going through my collection with this for a week or two, and I can't remember if this is new or not. Under the "Misc Options," "Don't copy empty values to non-empty fields" does not seem to work. I've noticed it on at least two albums, but I can only confirm it is for "Date" or "Original Date."
I suppose it's possible that the "Original Date" field is non-empty in Discogs, but the field after tagging is very much empty. For reference this is for release; 3276970.

*Edit to add;
  • Not updating blank fields does not work anywhere.
  • Now when an album is not found I get the message "OAuth Server error / Please try again
    " in the main window.
I'm just reporting. It's still the best tagger I've found.

Okay, i "hide" the new date options in the mediamonkey options, where you can choose the other fields for Release, Country, catalog. etc.

I found this issue and release a new version later this day. :(

Just released a new version:

- Bug with Release Date / Original Date removed
- In Advanced Search hitting enter will trigger search
- Changed error message if no release found

This issues were caused by the Date bug. So it should work now.

Happy tagging !

Maybe I'm being myopic but I can't find the option to use original date in the date field.
If I have both checked or just one, they will fill out their respective fields and the options list on the left doesn't seem to have any new option, nor one related to this.

Started a session of tag fixing, and started getting VBScript error #13. The error only pops up when I search for albums by "R.E.M."

Changing the artist name to "R E M" makes the error go away.

Crazy, I don't get it now either. You are good! Perhaps a minor change at Discogs that got rolled back? Either way, it works just fine now.

Okay, but it's really crazy. If you get into it again, store the Discogs_Script.log from the script Dir and send it via pm. Thank you!

I found out the option and it seems to be working fine. Thanks for that.

As for the discogs search, I thought it was fixed because I can now search for bands like "LAKE R▲DIO", "†‡†" or even "K's Choice" without problems (all these didn't return any results before). But I tried searching others with more "normal" special characters, like "Týr" or "Mão Morta" and got nothing from those.
I guess there's nothing to do but wait. Interestingly enough, their website search doesn't have a problem with any of them.
