Re: Calculate Cover Size 1.5 - Updated 03/05/2010
Hi Trixmoto.
I'm running the script on all my files.
But I forgot that some of them already had been analyzed by your script.
Will the script overwrite previous values with the new ones.
I ask this because I already changed the artwork in some of them.
Thank you

Thanks for this great script, trixmoto!
A few questions:
a) This script works with MM4 too? There are no built-in cover art informations in MM4, right?
b) This script doesn't write anything back to the id3tags of the song, only to the MM database?
c) After modification on the cover art of a song, this will NOT be detected through the scan process (INS) from MM. We have to run the script again, right?
d) What happens to the size calculation, if the song has multiple covers (ie front, back)

a) As far as I know, yes, although I've not tried it myself. It should be forward compatible though.
b) It writes back to the field in the database that you specify - depending on your MM settings this may or may not be one which is stored in the file's tags.
c) No, the script is never automatically triggered - you would need to run it manually.
d) This depends on the mode that's running, sometimes it's total, sometimes it's average - the script should make it clear though.

Yes, it DOES work. I've been using it with MM4 since the early betas.trixmoto wrote:a) As far as I know, yes, although I've not tried it myself. It should be forward compatible though.

Re: Calculate Cover Size 1.5 - Updated 03/05/2010
Did you know that after ~8000 tracks, the script stop working with this error:
"Thread creation error: Not enough memory available for this command"
(rough translation for my original german error message:
"Thread creation error: Für diesen Befehl ist nicht genug Speicher verfügbar"
I have to kill MM4 with the taskmanager and start again with the next ~8000 tracks.

I tested it with over 20,000 when I wrote it for MM3, but I guess all computers have a memory allocation limit.

Re: Calculate Cover Size 1.5 - Updated 03/05/2010
Another question:
If I would write 'your' tag field for the calculated Cover Size
COMMENT SONGS-DB_CUSTOM1
with a 3rd party tag program, would Mediamonkey import it to its database on the next library (re-)scan?

Re: Calculate Cover Size 1.5 - Updated 03/05/2010
Could anyone tell me, how I can adjust the sort order for the column "Cover size" (as I labeled the Custom-Field1)?
Actually I get the following sort order:
...
100x140
100x140
1024x1024
102x102
105x105
105x94
1064x1064
106x106
1074x1517
107x105
....
How can I tell MM that the content of this column should be handled as numbers, not as text?

Re: Calculate Cover Size 1.5 - Updated 03/05/2010
Hi everyone,
I know this is an older thread but I just installed this script today and went to run it on a few albums. I picked Width x Height, stored in Custom 1, and pad 8 characters. I also checked Include images in tags (all my albums should have cover art stored in tags) and to not populate tracks without cover art.
However, when I go to run the script, nothing is written to the Custom 1 field. Yet, if I pick option Total; W x H, values are populated in my selected field.
Any idea why the plain old Width x Height option is not populating my selected field?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott
