Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey, what are you sorting on, and do you have full date (or just year value) in the Date field?

Re: Sorting albums in numberr order
I'm using build 5.1.0.2829 at present.
Regarding the Date field.
I'm using this format
17/11/2003 for Now 56
22/07/2003 for Now 55
Just to add I'm using the UK format of Date.
To sort i was doing via the Date at the top of the screen

What is the "for Now xx" suffix that you are appending to the date?Hellscaretaker wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 5:40 pm Regarding the Date field.

It looks MM is not recognising your "dates" as being calendar dates. ... because they have not been recorded in a generally recognised date format. It is sorting the column alphabetically, ie "17" comes before "22"
If the "for Now xx" values are meaningful for you for grouping or filter purposes, you should put those values in one of the Custom tags.
I don't think that MM has custom settings for date format. I think that they get the date format from where you have configured your geographic region in Windows. If your PC is configured to be in a region that uses day/month/year date format MM will OK with UK date format.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.
