MM not recognising my iPhone 14 Pro

Post by Robbieboy65 »

Hi everyone,

I am an iPhone 14 Pro user using iOS 16.3.1 and MediaMonkey 5.0.4.2690, and MM is not recognising my device. As per some of the advice given in the help pages, I have downloaded the latest iTunes and the iTunes software recognises my device. However, MM doesn't. Would be grateful for any information/troubleshooting anyone can offer.

Hi,
Make sure iTunes is closed when you Start MM and/or that MM is started and no iTunes started when you plugin iPhone.

That should list iPhone under Devices and services Tree node.

Also make sure you installed Desktop Version of iTunes not one from Microsoft Store.

See https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... atibility/

Thanks for your help Peke, I have followed your suggestions but still have the same issue. MM does not recognise my device but just shows one of my previous iPhones.

Hi,
One of our developers tested with iOS 16.3.1. and all worked normally. I do not have device capable for latest iOS update, but I also had no issues.

Can you please follow steps from viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643 and attach resulting LOG file to Support Ticket.

Are you saying that if you click on root of Devices and services it does not have listed new iPhone (click all devices to show all detected devices). This is strange and in past reports issue was specific to PC settings, log file should show what is going on.

Try repluging device few times while creating log file and MM open.

Thanks Peke,

I will have a go at the log file when I get home later today. Could you please tell me where I find the root of Devices and Services that you referred to? Thanks again.

Hi Peke, yes it's only showing my old device under Devices and Services. I'm sorry, but the information about how to create a log file is too complex for me to understand.

Hi Peke,

Just to let you know that everything now seems to be working normally. For some reason, my device is showing as 'Rob's iPhone 6' in iTunes and 'Rob's iPhone 4' in MM, which led me to think it was an old device. Yesterday it would not sync to my phone at all, However just now it is syncing just fine.

P.s is it possible to rename my device in MM?

Thanks for all your help.

Yes, to rename it just click the device name in the Summary tab and then click [Apply] button below:
