How to rip or copy a CD-ROM?

Post by meatsean »

Hi,
I have a documentary/movie from 2004 on a media called a CD-ROM. I’m familiar with DVD but I can’t say I have heard of a CD-ROM. I want to copy the documentary to my PC so I don’t have to run the CD-ROM from my DVD/CD drive. But every time I ran the CD-ROM from my drive, the documentary begins playing and I don’t get an option to rip or copy. How can I rip or copy the documentary in MM?

I have MM monkey version 5.0.4.2690 Gold Lifetime.
Operating system Windows 11 pro version 22H2.
OS built 22621.1265

Thank you for your help.

You should be able to copy the movie from the CD using File Explorer by navigating to the CD drive. In MediaMonkey itself you should be able to do the same via Folders.

I'm trying to copy movie using Media Monkey. From Folders (see screenshot below) I tried Folder (Move), Folder (Copy), Folder (Rip/Convert) but MM is not responding to the commands. Could you suggest the correct way to copy movie into MM?

You need to select the files on the disc to copy. Does that fail too? Have you tried the same in File Explorer?

MM could not identify the video file. I was able to copy video using File Explore in Windows 10 Pro. Thank you.

MediaMonkey does only show what it supports. What File Type is the video file?

That's a Shockwave Flash Movie, there is no official support for this anymore from Adobe. MediaMonkey doesn't support the format.
