"Location inaccessible"--Can't find music on PC--But it is there

Post by Mikey1969 »

Hi all, so I've imported some music for the wife, some Michael Buble. But only one album shows up. I've double checked, everything looks good. The files are there. if I look with Windows Explorer, the files are there. If I go to my music library in MM5, and search "Location", it is there. But if I go and search by artist, only the one album shows up. And if I find them by the Location tab, I can't test play them, because this thing has never played a single song since MM5 came out. Keeps telling me it's missing codecs, and I keep installing them.

But I can't figure out how to get this music to show up. I only put music in one place, it's sorted by artist name, and it's always worked. Just not for Mikey Bubbles, for some reason.

Hi,
In your description, you presented 3 issues non related to each other.
1. Search not finding tracks
2. Missing codecs when you try playing tracks
3. MM library thinks files are not in their places

Re 1: Try using tree navigation to Music -> Location and like in file explorer navigate to files you want to play and were missing in search.

2. What formats are Files, do you have Windows N that needs additional Windows Codec to be installed See https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... -8-8-1-10/

3. Try to Use tree Folders and navigate to files to see if MM see them and play

3 issues non-related. Sure, except that I encountered all 3 in trying to get this to work.
1. They won't play. I get the "missing codecs" error, and it skips through. Never gotten a file to play on this computer.
2. All of my files are either MP3 or M4a. I have one album that is in m4a, and it's fine, the other, I converted to MP3 to see if that would work, and it doesn't show up. But my default is MP3.
3. And I can only find the files in question if I navigate thru the tree>Location

Thanks, I'll try both of those when I get home.
