I'm syncing 240GB of music to a device. File copies went at network speed but the last part of syncing is taking FOREVER. It's already taken 1 hr to generate 60% of the M3U8 playlists. Why is it soooooo slow? Aren't the synced song metadata stored in an array in RAM or a temporary textfile/database?
CPU use is ~2-5% with no disk access, according to Task Manager.
Playlist generation REALLY slow

How many Playlists, which version of MediaMonkey and what device are you syncing to?

Re: Playlist generation REALLY slow
[*] 4.1.29.1910 (portable mode) [paid version]
[*]~110 playlists (SmartPlaylists --> M3u8
[*]20,450 songs.
[*]91.3GB of songs.
[*]Sony Walkman A55 - simply writing files to microSD card. Does not modify device database.
Whatever MM is doing is EXTREMELY inefficient. When I write my own software in any language, sorting through large arrays of data even Terabytes in size should not take more than a few seconds. I think encoding a video would be faster than playlist creation. Computer has 24GB of RAM and only 33% is used.
