I have a small improvement request:
Many times, releases have both DVD and CD releases (or even some that have more than one CD). There should be an easy way to select/deselect a whole group. The checkbox is there already (where it usually places the CD name, like "Live at abc" or "Demos and rarities"), but it's never filled out and it doesn't work, even if we select it first and then deselect it.
Hopefully this is an easy addition.
Thanks for the hard work into this great plugin :)

error #214669 msxml6.dll the system cannot locate the resource specified
file: c/users/media monkey....scripts\discogswebtag.vbs, line 7262, column 1
the next pop up box says
error happened during script execution, the system cannot locate the resource specified..

Then the discogs tagging window pops up blank. I can see the releases in the drop down menu but none of the tagging options appear in the screen.

Ive uninstalled and deleted all the directories in program files as well as appdata and have ran as admin etc but still no luck? im running windows 8 mm 4.1.21.1875 and dt 5.6.3.

Thanks

Same issue here - running Windows 7. Any fix yet?
Hi, sorry for the long delay.
Please post the Discogs_Script.LOG File here or send it to me, after getting the error. With the log-file it's much easier to find the problem.
Maybe the Discogs api changed without notification. This wouldn't be the first time...

It just adds a blank cover image. Weird thing is that if there are other images available (clicking on more images button) I can select one and it adds it to the file perfectly. It's only the Front cover art that will not cooperate. Any suggestions?
Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. It worked fine until recently. Hope someone knows a solution or it gets fixed in an update.
I just tried to add the cover art and it works fine. Do you still have this problems?

Musicbrainz seems to work (without album art). I tried closing / reopening MM but Discogs appears to be dead... ?
I just found some other discogs users having the same problem : https://www.discogs.com/de/forum/thread/777136

It should be fixed now !?

Hmmm... I looked in my musicmonkey.ini file and found the DiscogsAutoTagWeb section and noticed that

username=

was blank. I filled that in with my Discogs username and re-launched MM and now it appears to be working. I don't think I ever had anything in that field before so is this coincidence?
Do you mean DiscogsUsername= ? You only need the username, if you wanna add the release to your personal list at discogs. Delete the username and try again to tag an album.

Hi !
Your improvement request sounds good. Adding it should be possible.

I try to remove the checkbox, cause it has no function. ;-) It should only show the name of the CD. If you like to fill the "grouping" tag with this name you have to set the "Save grouping info" checkbox on the left side.

Discogs error message.

Post by charmingnathan »

Hello,

It is a long time since i have used Media Monkey, and have tried today, but received this error message when attempting to run the Discogs auto-tagging process:

msxml6.dll A security error occurred; AutoTag.vbs Line: 7011 Column 1 then:

Error happened during script execution, a securty error occurred, and am left with a blank and empty box.

System: Widows XP SP3, A.M.D. Athlon 64, 3200+ 2.21 Ghz, 1.50Gb RAM.

I hope the answer isn't to downgrade to Widows 7, I have been advised that Media Monkey does work and is still compatible with XP?

Thanks for your help.

Discogs now use TLS1.2 for encoding. I don't know, if XP uses TLS1.2
Maybe this is the problem?

XP uses only TLS 1.0 and that won't work with Discogs which, as noted here, uses 1.2. Since Micrsoft no longer supports XP, your chances of it ever being upgraded to support 1.2 are basically nil. There is a purported workaround at https://sockettools.com/kb/support-for- ... indows-xp/, but I have never used it and will not vouch for it.

I'm having a problem for about a week now. All the tags are downloading fine but the Album Covers won't download at all.
Any ideas ? it's worked for years and I didn't change anything except downloading the newest version.

MediaMonkey 4 (and thus Addons like Discogs) use Internet Explorer.

Discogs use the Internet Explorer. Which error do you see if you open the url in MS Edge? Do you see the same error in Internet Explorer?
