Additional path's for media [12661]

Post by DimaV83 »

Could you please add additional places where Media Monkey looks for media files and where it can keep the library?
/mnt/storage/extsd1 (2, 3, 4)
/mnt/storage/usb1-1 (1-2, 2-1, 2-2)
or just /mnt/storage/

At this moment MMA can see only /mnt/SD Card that is used for internal storage on my device.

(possibly, ideal option will be to start looking for media files from /mnt/ as most general option.)

You can select what is to be scanned in the Options.

Do you mean Options -> General -> Choose library folders? If yes - this does not work for me. On this device I have only /mnt/SD Card in this list. And external storage devices (USB flash drives or microSD) are mounted under /mnt/storage/ which is not shown here.

Thanks for the images. Can you:
-Tell us what device & what OS/version you're running?
- Reboot your device, wait a couple of minutes, run MMA, Click Options > Share library folders, then click Options > About MediaMonkey > Send log, and share the debug log ID that appears (just post it to this thread).

Thanks.

This is a so called "chineese" car headunit made by Kaier factory (for GM/Opel/Vauxhall Astra in my case, MStar chipset). Firmware developed by another company and is also used on devices from number of different manufacturers. So the hardware platform is quite common (exactly the same firmware and very similar hardware will be on headunits for many other cars, like Chevrolet, Ford, VW etc).
My device - http://www.aliexpress.com/item/7-pure-a ... 74070.html (yes, my next questions and suggestions/testing will be based on making MMA the ultimate player for in-car use and wi-fi sync with home library :) ) Module with the screen has, actually, a normal Android tablet and second module contains car-specific modules like radio and CAN-bus.

Current firmware says that it has Android 4.2.2.

Options > Share library folders
I don't see this neither on this device, nor on my phone (SGS4). :(

By the way, here is a screenshot with 1 microSD and 2 USB flash drives connected. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ubf8suwdbok4 ... 5.jpg?dl=0

Hi, we have significantly improved storage recognition in MMA 1.1.3. It will be available soon as BETA in play store. Please try it. It should resolve Your issue. Otherwise please resend the logs and post log ID here. Thank you!

THANKS!!!!
Yes, MMA now can see all external storage and play files from microSD cards and USB drives. But there is a problem with library - MMA will not read tags from files on external storage (like album/artist/song title) and will not add these files to library, will not pass proper information to scrobbler.
If I copy the same file to internal storage (in my case - /mnt/sdcard) - all works. Please see attached photos, they explain this quite well.

Please, look at this issue.

Hi Divav83,

I suspect that the problem is that Android itself isn't aware of these track (i.e. if you try to look at them in Google Play Music, the tracks won't appear), and that MediaMonkey consequently doesn't see them (MMA currently relies on the Android Media Store for track metadata).

Just in case, you might want to try enabling Options > Choose library folders > [path to external storage containing music] , but if the Android Media Store isn't aware of this content, MediaMonkey still won't see it.

p.s. we plan on adding our own tag scanner in a future version of MMA

Just an Update, Latest MMA see all the storage for sync and can add them into library

As seen at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 73#p441873 I've bought one of devices to test.
