Lost drive on Workgroup

Post by sfz0357 »

I keep all my music on an external hard drive connected to a computer on a local wireless work group. The computer and hard drives are visible in Windows Explorer, and from within the File/Open File or URL... menu window of Media Monkey, but not on the My Computer/Network/Workgroup Media Tree. It used to be, but no more.
I am using Windows 10 and Media Monkey Gold.
Please help.

Hi,
Looks like you are not the only one see https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Fo ... networking many of us lost access to network shared folders. we are working on a solution, at least for MMW.

Manually add the network locations you want scanned in the File > Add/Rescan Files dialog. This will allow you to bypass the fact that they're not listed.

Hi,
Good point Lowlander, as copy paste Windows explorer part from address bar into MMW add to library allow you to scan that folder for new files.

I tried copying and pasting the network path, and also entering manually. Still no go.

How is it no go? Did you use the Add button after entering the Network Path to be scanned? Does scan start, but fail to add files from the network Path? Any error? Could the Windows User MediaMonkey be run as be different and thus have no credentials for the network Path? Which version of MediaMonkey?

I am using MM v4.1.17.1840. When I pasted the path into the Add files to be scanned, it disappeared and did not seem to be scanned. I'm sure I did something wrong.

After paste, did you click the Add button?

FYI you need to use latest 4.1.1852+ Version to have Network path show correctly.

I have version 4.1.18.1852. My networked drives still do not show up. I have been using VLC since I can't get to MM.
