Once you play via a Sonos Player it doesn't work. I'm assuming it's because at that point the individual Sonos players are working off their own metadata.

Has anyone discovered a way to crossfade while playing from the MM DB to Sonos?

Crossfading needs to be done by the client (Sonos), so it would be best to inquire with Sonos how to crossfade from a DLNA Server.
