Hi,
In album view/browser they albums are defined as <album, artist> pairs which does not always work, particularly for compilation or collaboration albums. Can it be made to just be by album name or make the criteria for aggregation configurable?
For example given the songs in the give format:
format: <album> - <artist> - <track>
album - a1 - t1
album - a2 - t2
album - a2 - t3
MM will create will create two "albums" in the album view with one entry having t1 and the other t2 and t3. Ideally all three tracks would show up under one album entry.
Also I apologize if this option is available (or planned), but I could not find it.

Hi, I either cannot replicate or I don't understand exactly what do you mean?
For me tracks are grouped correctly by <album artist, album> as in MM4, so it works for compilations, see this:

Re: [Request] Configure how albums are defined in album view
For compilation/collaboration albums you need to give each track the same content in the field <Album Artist> and use that with <Album> to have the tracks sort correctly. The ID3 tag system was set up so that an album is defined by the fields <Album> and <Album Artist> allowing <Artist> to vary among the tracks.

It sounds like something is inconsistent in the album field.Red Maw wrote:MM will create will create two "albums" in the album view with one entry having t1 and the other t2 and t3.
Is the album view you refer to the album column, or an art view?

Re: [Request] Configure how albums are defined in album view
I was referring to a the view where it shows the album art with the album name underneath (and the artist or album artist below that).
It looks like your guys right though, checking a few of them showed that somehow the album artist field was the same as the artist field. Probably user error.
Thanks for pointing out my failures
