Can you add an option to always use the artist on the right of the pic? That's the one I always want to use. Except for various artist albums, but I guess you can identify those. Or maybe add it to the window options instead of global, so we can turn it off for a single release.
Okay, added to the ToDo List.
Maybe a stupid question, but which artist you like to have in the artistlist. ArtistA or ArtistB ?
ArtistA featuring ArtistB - Song1

The artist that is listed on the left list. You have artist, album, album artist. When the right side track list has different artists, due to the featuring songs, I want the left side artist to be used. Maybe in the options on that same window, because for various artists albums you would need to turn it off.
what a nice piece you did with this add-on....
Much respect and keep it on!
Two questions:
1) Is there a way that the add-on can obtain/user artist & title instead of artist & album to query? My use case is the following: I have tons of files that have artist/title, sometimes year as well - and I'd like to query Discogs for the right album. Currently, finding the right one is quite manual as one has to sift through a whole list of possible albums in the combo box - but once the right one is selected, the auto-tagging will work. So I'm wondering if it couldnt be automated to auto-"jump" to the right entry.
2) If "save cover" is selected and auto-tag is started, there is a dialog asking for confirmation. Is there a way to a) save the option "save cover" and remove the additional confirmation box?
Apologies, guess it was just too late yesterday...
On 1) only by looking at the code today I found the "Quick Filters" which do allow for what I was looking for. Who said that 80% or the problems with computers are caused by the one sitting it front of it?
On 2) Any ideas - can the dialog be skipped somehow?
you're welcome. I'm glad that you like the Discogs Tagger

But hey, you found the solution by yourself.

Thanks guys
Davy
The dialog comes from Mediamonkey, there is currently no way to skip it.

I have a P.C. moreoreless dedicated to using Media Monkey to tag, and up until an odd series of events, I have had great success in doing so.
Before going into this, I am ready to accept the awful possibility of an intermittent hardware issue coming into play.
First of all, without any warning, the video driver software dropped off and I was let with nothing but the basic XP V.G.A. driver.
Secondly, Media Monkey started screwing up, when attempting to tag, I received this error messaage: "Error 2147418113 File C:\...DiscogsAutoTagWeb.vbs Line 4593, Column 1" click okay on that message and I receive a second error message: "Error happened during script execution: Catastrophic Failure".
Thirdly, to attempt to resolve this issue I have:
Un and re-installed Media Monkey numerous times, re-starting each time;
Un and re-installed the Discogs tagger numerous times;
After un-installing have removed every "Media Monkey" registry entry the search facility could find;
Restored the system prior to the issue with Media Monkey starting and/or the video driver 'falling off';
Run a 'soft' repair of Windows XP SP 3; (while waiting on the last black screen "Please wait" before seeing the 'repaired' Desktop, the system has hung twice and I've had to re-start the P.C. to get backto the Desktop).
None of the above has made any difference to the issue at all. I have come to the conclusion that the next logical step is a fresh install of XP, but am sure there must be a more straightforward way to resolve this, unless the system does have a hardware issue.
Your ideas would be most welcome, thank you in advance.
I'm trying to tag the CD Daryl Stuermer - Go. Only 1 release is coming up in search although there are 3 releases that can be found when manually searching on discogs.com. The one I want to use (see below IOMCD 257) does not come up when searching thru MM. Even if I copy paste catalog # in manually, it still comes up with the Japanese version (DWCR-1009). There is also 1 listed on discogs.com with IOMCD 257 Promo which I don't want. Is this a script issue or something in my existing tags or is there something on discogs.com that needs fixing? Thanks in advance.

What you need to do in these cases is to copy the release number. In this case, for the german release of the album you mentioned, this would be [r3572870] (clicking on it immediately copies it to the clipboard. Then, in the search bar of the discogs tagger you paste this (including the []) and it will load that exact release. I just tested this and it works.
Yes that did work. I always knew that would work I just didn't realize the Release ID was placed in the top right corner of page. That's why I was using the catalog #. The question is why doesn't that release show up in the initial search and user has to do a manual search? Thank you.

Please Post the Artist and album you tried!
Thank you
Thanks for your reply crap_inhuman - good name by the way!!!
As it shows in the screen dumps, one was Dr. Feelgood "Primo" and "Greatest Hits", but I also tried Adam & The Ants, plus Jane Wiedlin to ensure that it wasn't just related to the artist or band I had tried.
