songs beeing played too fast

Post by Peter »

Hi,

I'm using MediaMonkey (MM) for propably 6 weeks now. Since 2 weeks I'm rating my songs (so I play a lot of them) and I've got the following bug:
When I doubleklick a song for playing it, everything is normal. The playing starts. I can repeat this 5-20 times. After a number of songs the bug beginns: The song is being playd too fast (5 minutes ago I've had Brian Adams with MickyMouse voice). It's about 30 % too fast. It doesn't matter if I'm using the MediaMonkey player or WinAmp (2,9 or 5.1). I downloaded the Mad plugin and installes it. No effect.
I have to close MM (and WinAmp) and to restart it. But the bug returns after a few songs ...
Sometimes a song starts with normal speed but after I used the fast forward button to jump to the middle it continues too fast (30%).
My System:
MSI K333, with AMD 2200+, 1,5 GB
TerraTec dmx 6-fire
Windows 2000 sp4
MM 2.0.1 or 2.1.1.596 no difference
All my mp3s are generates with vbr

When I use WinAmp allone, such a bug dosen't appear.

Best Regards,
Peter

sounds like it is not the media players. but sounds like your computer is in need of an update.

go to windows update and see if there are any there that are for you computer. i am thinking you might need a java virtual machine update?

This thread popped up when I googled for this issue.. I know that the OP was using windows 2000 but I have just today (Jan 10 2017) started experiencing this exact same occurance. I'm currently listening to Alvin and the Chipmunks doing a lovely cover of Fleetwood Macs' The Chain. With each song it seems to get marginally faster and faster..

I'm on a Windows 10 machine
i-6700k
16 Gb of DDR4
OS is running off a 128 GB m.2 SSD
Media monkey is completely up to date along with all software and drivers

Does it the same in further media players?
Maybe changing output plugin could help? menu Tools > Options > Output plugins

Can you please send us one sample file (DL link on PM if you do not want to others see it publicly). I'm suspecting that File is actually MP3 Pro format which can observe such issue.
