I'm a complete Novice when it comes to MediaMonkey. I apologize in advance if this is in the wrong location, already answered, stupid questions etc....
I'm planning to use MediaMonkey as mainly my video player/organizer. After installing and playing around with the settings I have a few questions:
1. Does anyone have suggestions for the best settings based around video files? (Tags, format etc...) All of my files are randomly titled so auto tagging doesn't work so well.
2. Is there a way to create custom tags? (Making it easier to sort, locate, organize etc files based on quick tags associated with what I feel is its important content. Almost similar to searching tags in youtube or vine). I use playlists but occasionally I want to review items from multiple playlist.
3. Is there a way to get MM to create thumbnails of videos? Some have thumbnails, others don't.
I like using VLC for video playback but it doesn't offer the ability to organize files. For the most part I have all of my videos organized into specific folders based on content but that doesn't exactly offer easy playback when I want to review content from multiple folders. I'm not sure if any of this makes sense, but hopefully someone has an idea of what I'm talking about and maybe a great solution to make things easier
Customizing MediaMonkey for video

Re: Customizing MediaMonkey for video
1) Whatever works. I suggest to store movies in their own folder per movie and include year. For TV store in folder per Show with subfolders per season. Common naming is show name - S(season number)E(episode number) - Episode Title.
2) MediaMonkey offers 5 custom tags.
3) This should be done if enabled for all video files without known Artwork. You may run into issues with multiple video files in the same folder, but I don't know as I don't use this.

I agree with lowlander .. for TV i put each file in its series folder with artwork. the file names are like
srs - seriestitle - SnnEnn - year - eptitle.mp4
where srs = series #, Snn is there Season number, Episode number, year first played, and the episode title
001 - Westworld - S01E01 - 2016 - Pilot.mp4
Movies are simply
Captain America Civil War - 2016 with each in their own folder with their artwork.

Re: Customizing MediaMonkey for video
Hi,
TV Series filename naming is very very problematic but recently (last two years) things are calming down and more standardized naming emerged.
Lots of data at https://www.google.com/search?q=Scene+T ... ame+format
But from what I see generally they use similar approach eg.
