Media streaming by the service is installed.
After a fresh start of my pc i see in the task manager 2 MM Processes: MM and MMservice.
But the enabled sharing server does not appear on the network, it's not visible to my rendering devices.
Only when i start MM it shows up. Afterwards i can close MM and it stays running and is visible.
What about making the share server visible without fisrt having to start MM?

Did you install the MediaMonkey Service as the same Windows User as you're running MediaMonkey as? Settings are per Windows user and the server settings are part of that.
If so, which version of MediaMonkey are you using?

Re: Share-Server / Service not visible in network until MM s
MM 4.1.14.1813
Sure, service installed as the same user as logged in, it says: Service was successfully installed.
The service seems running but in some way not propagated properly on the network
It needs a sort of a "nudge" by starting MM to make itself visible

Re: Share-Server / Service not visible in network until MM s
I'd like to report some more details about the MM service issue:
When i uninstall the service and want to install it again i always, on the first go, get the follwing error (the PW entered is correct):
[SC] StartService: OpenService FAILED 5:
Access is denied.
But after that, remaining in the same dialog window, the button changes to "uninstall service..." (so despite the error it seems installed?) When i now uninstall it and press "install service..." again i get the confirmation: installing service successful.
After restarting my PC, under Taskmanager/Background Processes i see 2 MM entries:
MediaMonkey.exe (32bit)
MediaMonkeyService.exe (32bit)
Also under windows services "MEdiaMonkeyService" shows as runnig.
But the MM server is not visible to my several dlna renderers on the network.
I have to start MM (and can close it again) for the MM server to get visible on the network. But then, after closing MM, under Taskmanager/Background Processes i still see the same 2 entries:
MediaMonkey.exe (32bit)
MediaMonkeyService.exe (32bit)
Sometime there are even 2 or 3 or more entries of MediaMonkey.exe (32 bit) as a background process i task manager, when i close&open MM several times, like this:
MediaMonkey.exe (32bit)
MediaMonkey.exe (32bit)
MediaMonkey.exe (32bit)
MediaMonkeyService.exe (32bit)
Sometimes after closing MM the MM service gets closed and MediaMonkey.exe (32bit) is still running and background services, just the other way around as intended.
Is it not so that when starting my PC MM is starting together with the MM service causing some sort of a conflict and that's why the server is not visible until i start MM?
