Android Auto features [13575, 13643]

Post by wylee »

Android Auto is fairly new but I thought a search might bring me to info as to whether compatibility is planned or not. So far, I haven't found anything.

Are there any plans to make MMA compatible with Android Auto?

I think that we won't have a choice about this, but thus far we haven't looked into it very deeply.

I'm not sure if this is the best place for the MM developers to receive votes for Android Auto compatibility, but I'd love to see MM be Android Auto compatible. I've only found one compatible player which can play the local music from a connected device (MDPlayer), and I would say it looks like someone's first attempt. It is very light on features. Being able to use MM at home for my connected devices, on my phone while not connected to a vehicle and then while connected to a compatible vehicle would be just a great platform, and not having to worry about support, and consistent experience, etc having to mess with everyone's else's players. Thank You.

Support for Android Auto

Post by erlebc »

A nice feature for the application would be support for Android Auto. I saw one acknowledgement that this would be considered, but now that we are a little farther down the road, maybe this feature could be considered for possible inclusion in a future release. The other stuff out there on Google which do support Android Auto are not mature and are missing much from them. I feel like MMA is far enough along in its product life to have a nice solid base of reliable functions and features, and this would only add to its appeal and ability to use the application everywhere you go.....

Thank You.

Would Android Auto support mean MediaMonkey would be my music player for my car? If so then this support would be awesome. Most other music players do not support the "Album Artist". The "Artist" field has become too long in my collection to scroll through the list so the "Album Artist" field is more useful.

Plus one on this. And looking at how the existing ui for mma is quite driver friendly already, it might not be that difficult to host it on the platform. I'm sure its easier said than done but either way this would be great.

Another plus one. I'm afraid I'm installing MDPlayer and if you don't add functionality soon, you may lose users.
Please add Android Audio functionality.

*bump* Santa brought me a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX and it's pretty great (FLAC! Tags! AIO info display!)
I would really like to have the option of my favorite audio player integrated to the dash.

Now that Android Auto works on any phone, regardless if your car has it or not, this needs to be a priority. Without the ability to use MediaMonkey from Android Auto will make me consider using a music app that does work with it & stop using MediaMonkey.

Please add this

I started using Android Auto as well and can use the music feature, but so far, it only supports Google music, Pandora and Amazon music, MediaMonkey, my default music player on my phone (and desktop) doesn't show as an option. Can we please have a compatible version of MM to work with Android Auto? Thank you.

Um... how do we enable/access MM on AA?

It doesn't show on the headunit menu for music playback,
nor in AA on the device to select/install.
