Understanding Player Output Plugins in MM

Post by SonicNova »

Hi, I'm just looking for some education here. I am reading up about WASAPI and ASIO with music players. When I open MM's Player Options, I see three choices.

MM Direct sound
MM WASAPI
Waveout.

Presently, my default setting is MM Direct Sound. I'm running Windows 10 and a Z series soundblaster sound card. My question is, should I be selecting MM WASAPI as my output?

Thanks for any feedback.

The best sound output would be what sounds best to you. WASAPI would be consider best by most.
