TOTAL FRUSTRATION!

Post by Al Fischer »

Have not been able to 'dependably' sync MMW to MMA. I have been using a 64GB SanDisk SDXC and sometimes get MOST of the album art but never all of it. All is embedded in tags as folder.jpg and with the 64GB card all art shows in POWERAMP and DOUBLETWIST. (same files on same card).

I just pulled out the 64GB and put in a SanDisk 16GB SDXC and got similar results with MMA. POWERAMP shows all artwork but now with the 16GB DOUBLETWIST only shows part of the artwork.

I am beginning to suspect the compatibility of the memory cards I am using. (except that in some apps it is fine)
The cards are 'Class 10'. I have been using SanDisk memory almost exclusively for years with no issues in high end cameras and USB sticks. Never a problem.

Any MMA users with a Samsung Note 10.1 2014 using SanDisk SDXC cards? Also what cards are you using with no problems. Where I live you don't just run downtown and buy techie stuff! But I am ready to try anything and order from Newegg frequently.

Take a look at my post 'TOTAL FRUSTRATION'. I am beginning to think memory. I have a strong (37 yrs0 background in Field Service with Big Blue and was a specialist. My memory might not be fast enough for some things. Have tried it in my Canon 5D and it is fine. Also copies just fine with Windows. Don't know how Android deals with external memory. Maybe not well!

What exact SD ar you using?

Which version of MMW and MMA do you use and what version of Android does your device run? Also how do you sync (USB/wifi how is MMW and MMA involved)?

Running MMA 1.0.4.0245 Have Pro.
Samsung Note 10.1. 2014
Android 4.4.2.
Synched from MMW 4.1.1.1703 (Pro)

I "THINK" I just proved that the problem is the SD card. Using a Samsung 64GB SDXC. Sometimes the art shows and after doing a complete reinstall of MMA and MMAPro only some of the art shows. The last sync was to a formatted (in the Note 10) 64 GB SD of 608 albums. Very few had the art showing. ALL the art showed in DoubleTwist and the Samsung player. (Same folders, same card, same, synced data)

So, I pulled out the SD card and reinstalled MMA again. and synced 6 albums and 2 Aufiobooks. VOILA! All worked. Art there and Audiobooks under audiobooks! (using Note internal memory)

Ran Crystal Disk Mark on the card. 41mps on Sequential read and 5 to 6 on Random.

Now, what 64GB card do you know of that WORKS with MMA? Interesting that mine doesn't but is fine with Doubletwist, PlayerPro, and Samsung Player. Also fine in a Canon 5d III shoothing 22GB raw shots. HOWEVER, I am determined to make MMA work because I like it. Better to have same developer for Windows and Android Appa.

It may be that MMA is handling memory differently or Samsung just doesn't like Sandisk!

Your thoughts, before I go completely NUTZ!

You're running KitKat which has been discussed at length: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 21&t=74609

I understand that I am running KitKat. I wasn't a week ago. My understanding is that you cannot install apps to an SD card but your music, photo, and video files can be stored on the SD.

That's where they are when Doubletwist, PlayerPro and Samsung player uses them. Can you explain that?

Besides, if I go to options I can select the external memory and see ALL the folders!
