iTunes removes my music i have synced with MM

Post by reza666 »

Hello,

I have a major issue. I like to use MM for syncing my music to my iphone 3G (fw2.2) and itunes for syncing contacts to Outlook (since there is no other way).
The issue is that when i sync with itunes it will remove all my music that i have synced using MM.
I have removed so that itunes do not sync the music but still it will not leave the music.

I am puzzled how to do. I tried to search on the forum and google but cant really find a solution to this.

Appreciate your help on the matter. I wish i had another program for syncing the contact/calendar then the crappy itunes :(

Cheers

Make sure you have "Manually manage music and videos" checked in iTunes as described: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... _ipod_sync

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have gone through the menus so many times but the option under summary i have never noticed even.

finally i can sync without loosing my music. Thanks again m8.

I wish MM had contact/calendar sync as well. Then i could get rid of itunes once and for all :)

I'm using iTunes 9.0.3 to sync contacts and calendar items with outlook and Media Monkey 3.2.0 to sync music to my iPhone.
It works until I make an itunes sync. After that all my music is deleted.
"Manually manage music and videos" is checked in iTunes.

Any idea how to fix that problem?

Even if you check the "manual" option in iTunes, that just means that it will only sync when you click the "sync" button in iTunes. It still syncs everything. The only way to do it is to sync to iTunes first, then sync with MM. Subsequent syncs with iTunes will clear everything in terms of music and videos out.

Did I really understand you:
I can not sync outlook via iTunes and sync MM-music to my iPhone without loosing my music when I sync iTunes again? There is no solution?

Unfortunately, that is right. It's just how iTunes works, there's no way to disable the music and video sync.
