request: artwork as background?

Post by MaFt »

not sure if this is a 'script' or an 'artwork' issue!

however, i think it'd be good to be able to tell MM to automatically set the artwork as the background of the main window in MM. is this possible?

also, is there a 'how to' for designing/implementing your own skins?

cheers

the album artwork would make it impossible to read the words in the lists.

the backgrounds of them are bmp's and are needed to be certian sizes and a very very pastel or transperent image.

so it is both a scripting and an image situation.

i guess it'd be too much to use the winxp transparency stuff then to 'fade' the image out?

the fading of some album art work can make the image look bad.

and cause more trouble reading the fonts.

if you want to use album art your going to have to make bmps in the size you need for the background files that media monkey uses in the lists.

you would have to open the artwork in a photo editor program then adjust the contrast and the brightness to be close to each other so there is less contrast in the image then you have to make it more pastel looking either by the transpent tool in the photo editor or by lots of adjustments in the brightness to get it to look pastel.

then the image would be able to be seen in the back ground of the fonts
and still let the fonts be seen.

that is if your only changing the background images that are used.

if your making a whole new theme for certian bands then you can do all the adjusting of the fonts in the theme editor.

but it would still be best to make the background images as pastel as possible with out messing up the image too much. 8)

but you also have to remember some bands get mad when you use their artwork or images on skins. there has been lots of them removed over the years from the winamp site.

I reckon it'd be a great idea.

Obviously it would change with the currently playing song.
