Re: WLRN Streaming
Copy and paste the following into the "open URL" dialog box - mms://live.friendsofwlrn.org/WLRNstream/.wma
This should run for you. You will not see any information in the player or the Now Playing pane but there will be a number 1 in the Now Playing pane. Make a new playlist and call it WLRN and then hold/drag the number 1 into the playlist. You can also right click the number one and open up the properties sheet to give it a meaningful track title. As for the Batanga radio they are using a flash player and I have yet to figure out a way to pull out where the streams are originating. Plus there are a lot of streams there.

Hard to say right now. I had both of these working in my MM last night. Perhaps you can describe what is happening when you try to run them.

Re: WLRN Streaming
Just got home and tried the links in MM3.03.1183 and both worked. Check your file associations in MM options. The WLRN is a wma file and the other one appears to be a mp3 stream. I seem to recall someone before having a problem after updating their Windows OS. Perhaps one of the other posters here remembers the issue. What OS are you running and what service pack? Have you made any updates lately? Beyond that I haven't an answer for you. Good luck.

Re: WLRN Streaming
A funny thing happened on the way to the net. I ended up using my office computer as I was doing a scan on my laptop. While there I decided to try the WLRN url I posted here in the MM I have on that computer. It wouldn't work. I then tried a couple of stations that I listen to and those didn't work. I checked the urls for those and was reminded that the urls had changed. So I updated the urls and it still didn't work. Now this is curious. I went to my laptop and tried them there. All the urls worked there, your station and mine as well. I am running MM3.03.1164 on the office computer and MM3.03.1183 on the laptop. What is even more curious is that the computer I have attached to my stereo is running MM2.something and that is running my station as of yesterday. I didn't run it today and I hadn't tried your station on it either. Those links I provided will definitely run, we just need to figure out why they don't on yours and my office computer. What version MM are you running?

Re: WLRN Streaming
I am running MM3.03.1227, Windows Vista and the updated version. It used to work before but no such link works now. What is rather unfortunate is that, the Batanga stations came with the MM but probably to the present situation of version updates, it could be that the links ain't updated yet. However, WLRN which actaully worked with the first link I posted could work any longer. If you find a workaround, please keep me posted as that station keeps me updated on news and discussions.
Thanks for your interest in solving the issue. I think you are always lsitening to those stations as well.

Re: WLRN Streaming
Something about this sounded familiar. I had a similar problem on one my laptop last year and I posted here about this.

It is something to look into. My office computer hasn't gotten much use and it might just need the updating that the above thread talks about. When I get a chance I will try it but I have been avoiding it as I still need the SP3 update on it and I need to do a backup first. Not enough time to do all I have to do. BTW the radio I listen to via the internet and MM is WBFO in Buffalo, NY. They have great blues programming on the weekends besides all the other NPR quality programming.
