I am no skinner, but just wanted to let you know that what you want is possible.
I have been getting my toes wet with skinning, doing some small mods.
Thought that I would use your request to get my foot a little wetter.

I have not totally replicated what you asked for.
Song title font color is off, believe that is a transparency/base skin color conflict that would require more tweaking than I wanted to do with a test for a player that I would not be using.
Also, have not figured out if bold fonts are supported - however, you can increase font size.
Next/Previous Buttons are probably not exactly what you had in mind and are a little rough. But, once again I was just messing around to get some more experience.

So, with a little fiddling I came up with this:


Just thought that you deserved a response.
Someone with more talent could definitely achieve what you are looking for.
Of course, you could always try doing it yourself. A good place to start learning is, here.

Have fun with it! The Monkey can never have to many skinners. Maybe, someday I will count myself as one!

Oooo, that's a good clue. I can simply fiddle about colourizing the bitmaps and replacing the images, etc... and I'll see if I can nut-out how to change the fonts, etc (in the right place). I'll have a go...

Actually... would you be able to let me know the Fonts/Colors things you modified to change the track name, album title, etc, please..? For example, the "Fonts" items might talk about ListItemTextNormal or StaticTextNormal... or the "SysColors" thing might refer to clActiveCaption... Which of these affect those 3 or 4 things I described I wanted to change? The graphics shouldn't be a drama to replace, I think...

b) is there a utility to convert skins from WinAmp format to MediaMonkey's format?

Changing fonts is easy.
I just modified these entrys in the FloatPlayer.ini:

But to back up a little, to get you to where you can do that.
Create a work folder inside your skin folder.
Copy the .msz that you want to mod to work folder.
Change .msz to .zip
Exatract zip (After extracting, I delete Zip - to avoid confusion).
In the extracted folder, find the FloatPlayer.ini.
Open it in a text editor and make changes.
Zip it and rename Back to .msz (use a new name, so as not to lose the original).
Move .msz back to skin folder.
Have fun!

I really love my MM3 skin but it is quite amateurish compared to everyone elses skins (especially the buttons: play, minimise, cancel, stars etc).

I would really appreciate it if someone could redo the/make some new images (minilyrics skin too) and maybe a micro player to bring it up the excellent standard, set by other more talented skinners, that MM deserves.

I think you should keep at it and improve it yourself. Not that I wouldn't want to help but we need skinners here and you'll never learn if someone does it for you.

batman? how would you like it. in the looks of the new movie batman, or the old tv show batman..
it is possible to do just as long as we have the proper images.
any one of the skinners can make the skin.

but just to let you know. i am not really wanting to take on more skins. but who knows?

some one was requesting changes on the casino orange skin but i don't think they got made? if no one takes up your request its not hard to do. just time consuming on the learning of how to do it. you could make your own, or you could send personel email to any of the skinners and requset of them in person there is a lot of new skinners lately, but i'm as i said and not prepared to take on another skin.

I ve based this on winamp 5.5 because i think the general scheme color is cool and minimalistic. I would appreciate if someone would help me to code this so it can bee more functional. You can give me a base to witch i can change the bitmaps. Or just work on the existing skin.

did you check the wiki site for the fast newbies walk through of how to skin for mm 3 i put a image up of the theme image map and show you what to change on it for use in simple image over laying.

and it is the theme which is really the windows explorer shell that is being skinned by the theme mskn. so all players use that theme map.
