Does anyone know of a script that will remove ID3 tags from FLAC files.
I have found that EAC adds ID3 tags to FLAC files when encoding.
I use another tagger to tag my FLAC files with FLAC tags, but the ID3 tags are remaining from EAC.
Remove ID3 Tags From FLAC Files
Have You tried to use Mm to clear FLAC Tags? Also in EAC I think you can set which tag Will be added to encoded file?

I am looking for a method that will not be too much manual work. Regarding EAC. I cannot see any setting to add FLAC tags.
But I found a method to remove ID3 tags that are with FLAC files. It is not perfect, but the easiest and the least amount of work that I have found so far.
When use Mp3tag to remove ID3 tags, it removes all tags including the FLAC tag. But if you choose Undo, it restores FLAC tags only. The only thing that I have noticed that isn't restored is the cover art. So you will need to restore that manually.
If anyone knows a better way, I would be interested.
musicbrainz picard can remove id tags from flac, but not on a mass scale.. only when you use it to tag files
New script: Last.FM Node Now with DJ Mode!
Last.fm + MediaMonkey = Scrobbler DJ!
Tag with MusicBrainz ~ Get Album Art!
Tweak the Monkey! ~ My Scripts Page

Best Solution would be Advanced Tagging Option to list/fix Known issues of Corrupted tag Formats like ID3 in Flac.

Re: Remove ID3 Tags From FLAC Files
Just FYI:
This build https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... d8#p466475 can auto-strip ID3 tags from FLAC files.

Re: Remove ID3 Tags From FLAC Files
There is a neat trick that you can do using Mp3tag.
Open Mp3tag, select all your tracks.
Right click and select "Remove Tag".
Now, select "Undo".
It will only restore FLAC tags.

Hi,
Latest MMW and MM5 will do that whenever you access/scan/play file.

Re: Remove ID3 Tags From FLAC Files
Hi Peke.
Can that be turned off?
I really don't like players messing with my tags unless I specifically allow it.
I've been bitten by players in the past, so I am fussy which ones have access to my media.
This brings me to think that a Tag Lock functionality would be nice if it can be done.
Re: Remove ID3 Tags From FLAC Files
Hi,
Here is the process.
MM Tries to play file -> FAIL -> CHECK ID3 Tag (ONLY THAT NOTHING ELSE) -> Found -> REMOVE -> Check IF File is Playable Tags are OK -> Update File. It was either that or Return File Not playable in Which Case if you try to Play/Tag in any other software you could end up in irreversible corruption. Also Non fixed files do not play on Android when synced or in any other App we tested (including VLC).
To confirm only and only damaged/corrupted files are tested, accessed and fixed no other file is touched.
I personally invested 20h+ work hours on testing and debugging all possible cases, making sure there is nothing we missed. FYI I corrupted and fixed more than 30k of Tracks no matter if they are Audio or Video. It is really one specific case where if file is not fixed then it is not playable anywhere and that is why it is transparent.
Same thing would be if your car stops as gas tank is empty in the middle of Desert and you have canister full of gas connected with hose to a tank but valve is closed. Will you leave the car and continue on foot 2k miles or open valve to pour the gas in the tank to continue.
But, maybe I am wrong. Still human.
