5:1 Sound

5:1 Sound
If I launch MediaMnkey it is not possible for me to play the music in a 5:1 sound, ist is only possible via Desktop speakers; yet the system says the sound is given out as for a 5:12 system, so the failure has to be in the mediamonkey system; uninstalling mediamonkey and reinstalling the drivers for the sound card makes the sound as being before haven installed MM. If install MM anew the problem is the same

The key is to play with the output plugin settings or download a plugin from the http://www.winamp.com site that supports 5.1 output.

Yet I do not use Winamp at all. I have downloaded several plugins and will check them out when I returned at home; though I do not understand why I have to do it this way
I have played with the output plugin and directed it to play direct sound via 5:1, but it did not...this is somthing I cannot explain myself.
Yesterday I reinstalled a former used player with had a similiar problem. There I directed it to direct sound - from wave out - and it worked nad gave me the sound I wanted to hear: This did not work with the media monkey so far.
By the way, why do not you create plug-ins to solve this problem? Why do I have to use third person software?
